Return to Balance: Learning to Listen Again
There’s a particular kind of tired that doesn’t lift with a good night’s sleep or a week off work. It’s the tiredness of a nervous system that hasn’t had a real chance to rest in years. Always half-braced, always slightly “on.” If that sounds familiar, Return to Balance was built with exactly that in mind.
A Retreat Without an Agenda to Fix You
We want to say this clearly, because it shapes everything else: Return to Balance is not about transformation, or becoming someone new, or leaving as a “better” version of yourself. It’s simpler and, we think, more honest than that. It’s about learning to listen: to the breath, to the body, to the quiet signals so many of us have learned to override. It’s about finding a few realistic practices that can actually travel home with you.
For eight days at Khamma Kethna, our jungle home in Canacona, South Goa, India, a small group will gather in simple wooden huts among the trees. There’s nothing polished or performative about the setting, and that’s intentional. The jungle doesn’t ask anything of you. It just holds you while you slow down.
Why We Built in Silence, Not Just Sequences
Most retreats fill every hour. We have chosen to do the opposite. Alongside the yoga, the Ayurveda, the Yin and Yoga Nidra, we have built in deliberate stillness: low-stimulation windows, unstructured afternoons, space to journal or simply sit with what’s arising. Connection with others will always be welcome, but never required. We have learned, through our own practice, that some of the most meaningful moments happen in the quiet, not the group circle.
This is also why we have woven education into the days rather than just experience. Understanding why a practice regulates your nervous system matters just as much as feeling it in the moment. It’s what makes a practice stick once you’re back in daily life, back at your desk, back in the noise.
Who We’re Building This For
The people we imagine finding their way to Return to Balance share something: a quiet readiness. Tired, or stressed, or simply disconnected from their own body, and not looking to be entertained out of it. Looking instead for tools that actually last. It’s probably not the retreat for you if you want a lively yoga holiday or constant stimulation; but if you’re ready to sit still and listen inward, this is a space designed for exactly that.
What We Hope You’ll Carry Home
We are not aiming for a single dramatic breakthrough in a week. We are aiming for something quieter and more durable. The kind of change that shows up months later, in small ways. A pause before overwhelm takes over. One tiny self-practice that’s stuck. A little more familiarity with your own breath. That’s the kind of change we care about most.
This will be Blue Pea Yoga’s very first Return to Balance retreat, running 21st-28th February 2027 and led personally by Neel and Jelix.
