At the heart of Blue Pea Yoga’s wellness philosophy is a deep integration of Ayurvedic principles – India’s 5000 year old “science of life”. Our offerings combine yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, therapy, Reiki and more.

What is Yoga?
Yoga is not a sport, it’s a life changing activity.
Yoga is not performance, it’s presence.
Yoga is not a religion, it is a science, an art of self-discipline.
Yoga is a relationship, with yourself, with your breath, with nature, with everything around you.
Flexibility and strength are not requirements to practice yoga, they are a result of the effect of asanas, breathing and focus on your body.

RETREATS

Do I need to be experienced in yoga?

No. This retreat is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners. Practices are adapted and optional.

I’m feeling stressed / burnt out. Is this retreat too intense?

No. The retreat is intentionally designed with rest, free time, and low-stimulation periods. You are never required to participate in everything.

Is this a spiritual retreat?

It is grounded and practical, not dogmatic. Practices are offered as tools, not belief systems.

Will there be silence?

Yes — short periods of silence during certain practices and approximately 30 minutes of noble silence per day. Silence is supportive, not strict.

Will I have free time?
Yes. You’ll have approximately 3 hours of free time every afternoon for rest, nature, or personal space.
Can I use my phone?

Phones are set aside during classes and morning practices. Conscious use is encouraged during free time.

Is this retreat social?

Connection happens naturally, but there is no forced sharing or group bonding. Solitude is respected.

I have health issues. Can I still come?

Many conditions can be accommodated. Please contact us in advance to discuss your situation.

What if I feel overwhelmed?

You are encouraged to take breaks, rest, or opt out. Support is available, but self-responsibility is central.

Is this retreat for content creation / Instagram?

No. This retreat prioritises presence over performance. Limited content creation is welcome, but this is not an “Instagram retreat”.

What is the daily schedule for the retreat?

07:00 – 09:00 Morning Yoga, Pranayama & Meditation

09:00 – 10:00 Breakfast

10:15 – 11:45 Ayurveda Theory Class (practical & applied)

12:00 – 13:00 Lunch

13:30 – 16:30 Rest / Journalling / Optional 1:1 sessions

16:30 – 17:00 Herbal Tea

17:00 – 18:00 Yin Yoga or Therapeutic Practice + Yoga Nidra

18:00 – 19:00 Dinner

19:30 – 21:00 Evening Program (varies by day)

What is the maximum number of students on the retreat?

We keep our groups really small for personalised teachings and ambiance. The maximum number of students is usually 10-15.

Can I arrive a couple of days before and leave a couple of days after the retreat?

Yes! You’re welcome to arrive early or stay longer, subject to room availability. Please inform us in advance to reserve extra nights (additional charges apply).

TTCs
Do I need prior knowledge and practice of yoga before joining a TTC?

Prior yoga experience is helpful but not required to join a TTC. The training will guide through the whole process. It is crucial to have the desire to deepen your practice, to learn and to grow in your yoga journey.

I am not very flexible and cannot do many asanas, can I still join the course?

Yes, absolutely. Flexibility is not a requirement. The TTC is designed to support all levels, and you’ll be guided step-by-step. Yoga is about progress, not perfection.

Can I do the Yin & Nidra TTC even if I haven’t done a 200-hr beforehand?

Yes! You will have a better knowledge if you have done your 200-hr beforehand but this is not mandatory to follow the course.

Is the course taught in English?

The course is taught in English but our teachers also speak French, Spanish, Hindi and can help with interpretation when something is not understood.

Is there an exam to complete the course?

Yes, a final practical and theoretical assessment is part of the certification process. It helps consolidate your learning and boost your confidence.

What happens if I do not pass the exam?

Our aim is to support you fully. We teach you the necessary material for your success in the practical and theoretical exams, don’t stress about this.

Will I teach during the course?

Yes. You’ll have opportunities to practice teaching in small groups and receive supportive feedback to help you grow as a teacher.

Do you provide study materials/manuals?

Yes, all students receive printed and/or digital manuals and materials covering theory, anatomy, philosophy, and teaching methodology.

What if I miss some classes?

We recommend full attendance, but if you miss a class due to illness or personal reasons, we’ll support you with catch-up options when possible. Certification requires meeting a minimum attendance.

Are your trainings Yoga Alliance certified?

Yes, our TTCs are Yoga Alliance certified. After completion, you can register as an RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) and teach internationally.

Can I teach yoga or open my own studio with a Yoga Alliance certificate?

Yes you can. Yoga Alliance is the leading international non-profit association representing the yoga community. By choosing a school registered with Yoga Alliance, you are eligible to teach yoga or open up your own studio anywhere in the world.

What are the career opportunities after completing a TTC?

Work as an independent teacher, open your own studio, organise retreats, … The options are varied and diverse, we can talk about what fits you more during or after the course.

Can I still take the course if I do not intend to teach after the course?

Absolutely. Many students join TTCs for personal growth, deeper practice, or self-healing. Teaching is optional — the journey is yours.

GENERAL
Are food and accommodation included in the fee?

Yes. The course fee includes 3 daily vegan meals, herbal teas, and your accommodation for the full course duration.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

What to bring with me

Bring comfortable yoga clothes, a water bottle, journal, toiletries, swimwear, a shawl/scarf, sunscreen, insect repellent, and any personal items. A detailed packing list will be sent upon registration.

Do I need a visa for India

Yes, most international travellers need a visa. We recommend applying for an e-Tourist Visa in advance, or going to the Indian embassy to get a paper version.

I am a woman and travelling to India for the first time, is it safe for me?

Yes, many solo female travellers come to India for yoga. Goa is generally considered safe and welcoming. Our team is here to support you, and the retreat space is secure. As always, general travel precautions apply.

Do the rooms have mosquito nets?

Yes, most rooms have mosquito nets or mesh on windows. We also recommend using a natural repellent, especially in the evenings (provided).

how is weather in Goa

Goa has a tropical climate. From October to March, it’s warm and pleasant. April–May is hotter, and June–September is monsoon season (humid with heavy rain). We schedule courses during the most comfortable months.

 

Do I take medicines with me ?

It’s a good idea to bring basic medicines for digestion, allergies, or any personal health conditions. There are pharmacies nearby as well.

Do I need vaccination ?

Consult your doctor before travelling. Commonly recommended vaccinations include tetanus, hepatitis A/B, and typhoid.

What is the best way to reach Goa ?

The easiest way is to fly into Goa International Airport (GOI/Dabolim) or Manohar International Airport (GOX/Mopa). Trains and buses are also available from major cities like Mumbai and Bangalore.

Can I book an airport pick-up through you?

Yes, we can arrange a pre-booked taxi pick-up from the airport or train station for an extra fee. Let us know your travel details in advance.

Is it safe to drink the water ?

We do not recommend drinking tap water. Filtered drinking water or bottled water is available.

Do you provide laundry services ?

Yes, laundry service is available on demand for an additional cost, or you can wash clothes yourself.

Is there hot water for showering ?

Yes, all rooms have access to hot water for showering.

Where can I withdraw and/or exchange money?

    There are ATMs and money exchange services nearby. We recommend withdrawing or exchanging some money into Indian rupees at the airport on arrival for convenience.

    Should I bring money with me?

      Yes. While most of your needs are covered, it’s useful to have some cash for personal shopping, snacks, massages, or transport.
