About us
Neel lives for Vipassana. Her mother has always practiced meditation and brought her along with her as a child. Later as a young teenager, she watched Baba Ram Dev practice asanas on television and started imitating him. Yoga became her passion and she has been practicing for nearly 20 years. Neel is originally from Delhi where she grew up and obtained her Master’s degree in English and went on to be one of the youngest professors at Jamia Hamdard University (Delhi). She started teaching yoga classes alongside her academic career and in 2014 obtained her Post-Graduate Diploma in Yoga Science from the renowned Moraji Desai National Institute of Yoga.
Jelix and yoga weren’t always a love story. She actually hated yoga as a teenager and young adult, it was too slow, too boring, and stressed her out. It took a world trip ending in India in 2008 and a month-long stay in an Ashram in Rishikesh for her to discover that yoga wasn’t all that bad. Since then, she has been practicing yoga, mainly Iyengar, and in the more recent years discovered her love for Vinyasa, Meditation, Yin, Nidra and so many other aspects of the world of yoga. Her deep interest in the human body and its health, being vegan for over 20 years, also brought her to Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine.
Half Welsh, half Belgian, Jelix has lived in different countries over the course of her life before finding the balance between South Goa and Brussels. With a background in mathematics, languages, photography and communications, she had various careers leading her path to the world of yoga. Her path to finding inner peace has not always been easy and she therefore has a real desire to share all that yoga, in the large sense of the word, has brought to her through our retreats and teachings.
